The goal of e-ville.com is to be the friendliest and fairest shop there is. The internet is full of e-stores and dotcoms that use unfair practices and are distant and unfriendly. We don't care for this kind of shops and shopkeepers so we have built our e-store from the ground up to be as friendly as possible. By doing this we will not only feel better about what we are doing ourselves, we will also have happier customers. We feel that it is fair to offer friendly and flexible methods for returns and to be flexible with the warranty of the items. We also feel that the price of the product should not fund expensive branding and advertisement campaigns that do not actually add to the value of the item in any way. By buying directly from manufacturers and suppliers, we remove middle men and are able to offer affordable prices while doing it so that everyone, including the manufacturer, gets their share and feels happy about the purchase. By doing this we will have happier customers, affordable prices and staff that enjoy what they are doing.
History and how it all began

Ville Majanen, native to Finland, moved to Hong Kong to study abroad in the Hong Kong Polytechnic University back in 2006 As a part of his BBA degree. To stay in touch with friends and relatives back in Finland, Ville decided to buy himself a webcam from a local electronics shop. The camera cost him $80HK, which was a good price for such an item, and the camea proved out to be excellent quality as well. Ville had made his first successful purchase. A week later, Ville happened to pass by the same shop and thought he would buy a few pieces of the camera and try to sell them. If he wouldn't be able to sell them, he would give them out to his friends.
Several months passed by and Ville had aleady given up on the idea of being able to sell the cameras, when he suddenly remembered a Finnish equivalent to Ebay that his brother had used to sell items online. He placed the items on sale and sold every piece of the camera and even made a small profit. Thrilled from the success Ville spent the following weeks going through streets of Hong Kong buying electronics and other items, writing product decriptions and taking product images for the items. During the day he was doing his internship for a German company, KarstadtQuelle.
A friend in need

Ville's internship in KarstadtQuelle was coming to an end. He had been spending all of his spare time developing the trade of the auction site, which had converted to some permanent customer and supplier relationships. Ville wanted to continue developing his business full time and the idea of setting up an online store started to take form. It just so happened that Jussi, an old friend of Ville's, was at the same time looking for an internship and happened to call Ville one evening. The two friends started joking about Jussi coming to Hong Kong to help Ville develop the newly found online store e-ville. After discussions and some planning Jussi moved to Hong Kong to become the first intern to work at e-ville.com.
Step by step e-ville.com has been developing from it's small beginnings. The team has been growing steadily as have the facilities. What started in a small room in a shared apartment has moved from office to office to the current state of having offices both in China as well as Hong Kong. At the same time the focus shifted from the auction site to the current site that holds more than a thousand items and is ever growing.

Nowadays e-ville has had more than five million visitors and the amount of orders packed, labeled and sent is growing each month. The team has grown to include close to 20 full time staff from several cultures and shipments are made all over the world.

Products and pricing
The cheap prices at e-ville are based on a number of factors. One of the key benefits is that e-ville is situated in Asia, which means that we can purchase items in larger quantities directly from the manufacturer with no middlemen. When you don't have to pay agent fees, shipping costs to Europe and buy directly from the manufacturer, the products are by default cheaper than with European or American competitors.
Cheap pricing does not mean poor quality though. Before we add an item to our store, we test them thoroughly. By keeping up tight quality control we can ensure that our current and future items are of high quality. We do internal testing as well as visit manufacturers to overlook the process of manufacturing the products. Each of our items has a product specific warranty.
Products are sourced by a highly skilled team of professionals. However if you can't find an item you would like to see in our shop, don't hesitate to contact us. We reward ideas that will be executed.

Ville Majanen - Managing director
Ville Majanen is the founder and owner of e-ville. Ville majored in Marketing and Management in his BBA -degree. As the managing director Ville is in charge of the overall development and functioning of the shop.
TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT TEAM
Olli Knuuttila - Head of technical development
Olli started at e-ville in the fall of 2011 and is in charge of technical development and changes at e-ville. He holds a masters in science and engineering. Olli has been living in Hong Kong with his family since 2006.
Ramandeep Bhatia - Programmer
Ramandeep, or Raman started at e-ville as a programmer in the spring of 2012. The always cheery and friendly Raman executes development tasks at e-ville. Raman is originally from India and has a degree from the Kanpur institute of technology..
Kyo Chan - Programmer
Much like Raman, Kyo started at e-ville in the spring of 2012 and also peforms tasks in technical development. Kyo enjoys hiking and outdoors and is an integral part of e-ville's technological development team.
Michelle Ng - Graphics designer
Michelle has been working at e-ville since 2010 and is in charge of the graphics design and the look of e-ville amongst other duties. Michelle is originally from Shenzhen, China and holds a degree in IT.

Tuomo Juvonen - Sales and Marketing Manager
Tuomo started at e-ville as an intern in 2010 after doing a period on exchange at the Polytechnic University of Hong Kong. Tuomo has a BBA degree and majored in marketing. Tuomo has been living in Hong Kong permanently since 2011.
Tuomo Mäenpää - Customer service and Marketing
"The other Tuomo" has been working at e-ville since 2011. Nowadays Tuomo is in charge of Finnish customer service, adding items and performs assisting tasks in marketing and sales. Tuomo has studied business in the Satakunta University of Applied Sciences in Finland.
Ana Ng - Customer service and Marketing
Ana is native to Hong Kong, but has spent most of her life in Venezuela. Ana holds a degree in Graphics design and began working at e-ville in the summer of 2012.
SOURCING WAREHOUSING AND LOGISTICS TEAM
Esther Ng - Office Manager
Esther has been workign at e-ville for most of its existence, since 2008. Nowadays Esther is in charge of the operative functions of e-ville including sourcing, shipping and warehousing. Esther holds a BBA degree from the Polytechnic University of Hong Kong and an MBA from Durham University in England.
Jerry Yan - Sourcing
Jerry has worked at e-ville since March of 2012. He is in charge of quality control and sourcing. Jerry has an engineering degree from Hunan university of technology.
Tycho Elmgren - Sourcing and B2B sales
Tycho, originally from Espoo, Finland, has been living in Guangzhou, China for six years. Tycho holds a BBA degree from Raffles College and works at e-ville in sourcing and B2B sales.
Turbo Wong - Warehousing
Turbo or Fai as we know him, has been working at e-ville for quite some time in warehousing. Having studied IT in Guangzhou university, Fai maintains the warehouse and takes care of shipping and warehousing with his colleagues.
David Ye - Warehousing
Also having studied in Guangzhou University, David is in charge of stock quantities and packing items. David has been living in Shenzhen for several years.
